Through the Statewide Iowa Watershed Approach Project, the Upper Wapsipinicon WMA implemented 28 flood reduction practices in Buchanan and Delaware Counties. This tour will showcase several of the implemented projects where you can learn how they were implemented and why they are important to creating a more resilient Upper Wapsipinicon River watershed. Hear from several presenters such as project Coordinators from Northeast Iowa RC&D, Project Engineer from Shive Hattery, project landowners, and the Iowa Flood Center. A light lunch hosted by Buchanan County Pork Producers will be provided at the conclusion of the tour. Other tour sponsors include: Iowa DNR, Buchanan SWCD, Iowa State Extension, and Northeast Iowa RC&D.
